Because your health and the health of our providers matters to us, we have suspended all non-emergency care until May 1, 2020. Current patients will be seen for urgent and emergency dental needs only. Routine hygiene (cleanings) appointments and other non-urgent appointments will be rescheduled as soon as we return to regular operations. If you have an urgent dental need from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, please call the Office of Clinical Operations at (205) 996-6796. If you have a dental emergency from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Monday-Friday or over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), please contact the UAB Call Center at (205) 934-3411 and ask the operator to page the Hospital Dentistry resident on-call. For additional questions or concerns, please contact the clinic in which you receive your care . The safety and well-being of our patients continues to be our primary concern. Please understand that the UAB School of Dentistry is doing everything we can to ensure that our patients continue receiving the care they need. We will continue to monitor the status of COVID-19 nationally and within our community and keep you up-to-date regarding our plans to reopen for business as usual. We hope that you and your loved ones stay healthy and safe. -- Latest News Fouad named chair and program director of Endodontics Ashraf F. Fouad, DDS, MS, has been appointed chair of the School of Dentistry Department of Endodontics following a national search. He will also serve as the Endodontics program director. High Energy at High Speed Dr. Forrest Bryant (’97) was recently recognized as a 2020 UAB Excellence in Top 25 Business Class member, but it wasn’t in dentistry, the profession he trained for at UAB. Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Karen Connell spends time with family and fellow alumni Dr. Karen Connell (’00) has been with the Anniston Dental Group in Anniston, Alabama for ten years, and took the practice over from her father and fellow UAB School of Dentistry alumnus, Dr. Art Lewis (’67), in 2012.
